What to expect on a Sunday
While our Sunday gatherings can look quite different week to week, this is what an "average" service will look like:
As you approach the Church building, the unique dome architecture will provide something for you to chat about on your way home. Entering the building, grab a coffee or tea for yourself before heading towards the sanctuary. An usher will greet you on the way in and offer you a bulletin with information on upcoming church events. We're a younger congregation and are fairly used to kid noises, but if you have a fussy child and are worried about being a distraction, there is a "cry room" available just outside the sanctuary where you can still hear and see what is happening. In the sanctuary, there will be people of all ages laughing and chatting about their weeks. Grab a seat and say "hello" to one of your neighbors! The first part of the service is usually focused on worshiping God through song. If you don't know the words, don't worry, they are projected on a screen for everyone to see. And if you're not ready to sing along just yet, feel free to simply listen in. About half-way through the service the children will be dismissed to a teaching time designed just for them! Parents are asked to accompany the younger children to the classrooms and check them in before returning to the sanctuary. If your child isn't ready to be without you, you're welcome to stay in the classroom or bring your child back to the sanctuary with you. As the kids are taught their lessons, the adults also begin a teaching time together in the sanctuary. The lesson will be based on a story from the Bible and will have application for how God desires us to live our lives. Our teaching times often, but not always, end with a time for people to ask questions or make comments about what was presented. The service will close with a song, but don't run off as soon as it's done! This is the perfect time to grab a second cup of coffee, and get to know some people in a relaxed setting... after all, that's part of the reason you're here, isn't it?
